Red
Lotus Sea (or Thalay Bua Dang) is at Nong Han Lake which is situated in Amphur Kumphawapi, Udon Thani Province, in the northeastern
of Thailand. It is the largest lotus sea
(or lake) in Thailand. It is famous as one
of the most dream destinations of Thailand.
For your information, “Thalay” in Thai means “Sea”, “Bua”
in Thai means “Lotus” and “Dang” in Thai means “Red” . (Thalay Bua Dang =
Red Lotus Sea)
If you arrive there early in the morning, you will get a
great impression with the first sun ray which is very magnificent. It is such a beautiful sunshine! You can take a lot of great photos while the
sun gradually comes over the water.
In the meantime, you will see thousands of red lotus
blooming all over, covering water in very large area. Yes, the lake is full with lotus which are
carpeted the whole lake. That’s why it
is called as “Red Lotus Sea”.
Besides,
there are a lot of natural plants, fish and many species of birds. Especially the lovely birds that usually accompany
visitors’ boats, they come so close that you can feel like you could reach out
and touch them.
The blooming season is during the months of December to
February; i.e. the lotus flowers will be most abundant during that period and they
will bloom from early morning until about 11:00 pm.
From my opinion, it is a beautiful creation of nature. It is very awesome, amazing and wonderful indeed! I bet
you will have a great day at Red Lotus Sea!
