Tak Bat Thewo, Amazing Festival at Uthai Thani, Thailand
One of the amazing merit festival in Thailand is "Tak Bat Thewo". The festival is held at the end of the Buddhist Rains Retreat every year. (the eleventh lunar month - October) It is held at Wat Sangkat Rattanakhiri, Uthai Thani, in the lower north of Thailand. (only 219 kgs. from Bangkok)
It is very famous and amazing to see a long line of monks (approx. 500 monks) descend from the hill top step by step down the stairs as if going from heaven. And people from all over Thailand make a merit with special food, drinks, and beautiful flowers to those monks. It is very beautiful picture. You can attend this amazing festival and can take tons of photos there.
In the meantime, if you go up to the top of the hill, you can see a wonderful view of the city and the beautiful Sakae Krang River. The temple over there is also amazing as well.

Long Boat Racing: Amazing Tradition of Thailand
Nowadays, the amazing tradition of long boat racing is held annually towards the end of the rainy season (approx. September or October). The well-known boat racing is in Phichit or Phitsanulok province. It is one of the most beautiful, wonderful, amazing and exciting sport, festival or tradition which attract both Thai people and foreigners. Besides, it brings enjoyment and happiness. You will also feel the spirit of this sport as well.
In addition to boat racing, then you will see a lot of beautiful decorative long boats especially in the southern part of Thailand, in Pattani and Narathivas province. They are all special type of boat known as "Gorlae" as below:

Loy Krathong, the Beautiful Festival of Thailand
Loy Krathong is one of the most beautiful festivals in Thailand. In the old days, Thai people hold this loy Krathong festival because they would like to express their gratitude to the goddess of water. Loy Krathong festival is held on the full moon night of the twelfth lunar month each year (November).
Nowadays, you will see a lot of Thai people celebrating the Loy Krathong festival by floating their Krathong decorating with beautiful flowers, lighting candles, and joss sticks to the river. The river is very beautiful with wonderful Krathongs with beautiful lights. Lovers who float the Krathong together are believed to stay together in the future.

Amazing Songkran Festival in Thailand
Nowadays, Songkran festival is officially on 13-14-15th April each year. Thai people celebrate this amazing Songkran festival with water all over the country. In the morning, we will make a merit, give food and gifts to the monks, sprinkle water over the Buddha images. After that we will visit our family and sprinkle water on our father and mother's hands for their blessing. Then we splash water to each other with fun on the road for the celebration of this festival accordingly.

How to Celebrate Songkran Festival in Thailand
Moreover, it's time for most Thai people to visit their home towns where every members in the families gather together. Young Thai people pour water into the elders' and parents' hands as to express their respects and ask for the elders' or parents' blessing in return as well.
Nowadays, since April is the hottest month in Thailand, most Thai people, esp. younger people, gather together on the main streets with some tanks of water or water guns and the water fights begin with a lot of fun accordingly. This could also release some heat as well.
Songkran Festival is celebrated everywhere in Thailand. The interesting places which are highly recommended are :
- Chieng Mai, the largest and most culturally significant city in the north of Thailand.
- Sukhothai, was the first capital city of Thailand. The ruins are very awesome and the grounds are magnificent. You can feel great Thai cultural and artistic significance.
- Ayutthaya, one of the most important and great ancient capital of the Kingdom of Thailand in the old days. There were a lot of beautiful temples, palaces and religious sculptures. The holy and historic ruins, the wealth of history and its splendor impress and attract most tourists.
- Phuket, one of the most beautiful island with its magnificent scene.
